There will plenty of time to relax and explore the city but we have planned a few fun group activities.

    • Attire - Best dressed in white




  • Island Beach Day Tour
    • Tour cost is $60-$80 including about $30 for food and beverage
    • Round trip transportation via boat to the island
    • Use of sunbeds with towel service and bottle of water



  • Free time to go shopping or explore attractions like the Pink Sea or La Boquilla fishing village. Tours to be arranged at later time
  • Closing dinner
    • Attire - Dress in the colors of Colombia - red, yellow & blue!

What to Pack

  • The tropical weather is warm to hot all year. Afternoon downpours are common May–Nov.

Before You Leave

  • Notify your bank you are leaving the country
  • Get familiar with Spanish words and phrases. English is not widely spoken in Cartagena.

  • Get a yellow fever shot if you plan to visit the Amazon
  • Spray your clothes with bug repellent
  • Consider travel insurance

Do I need to go on all of the tours with the group?

No, but you will need to pay in advance for the tours you want.

How can I get around Cartagena?

It is recommended to use Uber which is readily available in Cartagena. (The tours will include transportation to and from the mansion)

Can I bring a guest?

Yes, but we suggest that you leave the kids at home. We lots of grown up fun planned!

How can I exchange money?

  • The official currency in Colombia is the Colombian Peso and in contrast to many of its neighbors, the US dollar - although widely exchanged - really is not generally accepted as money in Colombia at all, so you'll be using pesos throughout your holiday in Colombia.
  • You can use ATM machines to get money and there are plenty scattered throughout the city.

Do I need a visa?

No, a visa is not required to travel to Colombia, but you do need your passport. It will be stamped upon entry and exit at the airport.

Are Immunizations Required?

There are no required immunizations. It is recommended that you get Hepatitis A and typhoid. No malaria tables are needed unless you plan to visit the Amazon or other rural areas.

What Airlines do You Recommend?

The airport code is CTG. We found the best pricing on Avianca Airlines, Copa Airlines and Jet Blue.
